Thomas Balgheim

Completed Dresdner Bank’s commercial banking training and then worked for three years in the banks’ IT department. In 1989 he joined the consulting division of the auditing firm Treuarbeit which merged into Coopers & Lybrand and then became PriceWaterhouse Coopers (PWC). Thomas Balgheim was PWC’s Managing Director for financial services, when the consulting division was acquired by IBM. Following this takeover he led IBM’s business unit for Financial Services in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In 2003 Thomas Balgheim left IBM for SAP, where he was again responsible for its business in the financial services industry. He left SAP in 2008 to join the Japanese IT-services and consultancy company NTT Data, spearheading its expansion in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America. He was Chief Executive Officer of Cirquent (formerly the BMW affiliate Softlab) and of NTT Data EMEA Ltd. In 2013 Thomas Balgheim established his own IT consultancy and joined Ermgassen & Co as its Senior Adviser for the IT sector.
